- Peter Leach a trapper, was the first white man to locate in the Township
- 1960s- Henry & Edward Broadbent arrived at and named Broadbent
- 1864-Alexander Hardi arrived with an oxen on Manitouwaba Lake
- 1867-Samual Armstrong Jr, Andrew Moore & John McKeown blazed the trail from Parry Sound, placed a stake and called it Armstrong Rapids
- 1867-William Beatty followed an old Indian trail & built Great North Road
- 6 School Sections set out : SS#1-McKellar Village & Area, SS#2-Hurdvill & Part of McDougall, SS#3-Middle River, SS#4-Hemlock, SS#5-Inholmes, SS#6-Squaw Lake
- 1869-J.W Fitzgerald Surveyed the Township into lots
- 1870-McKellar Methodist Church was built by Henry Walkins & all the men in the community
- 1870-Loyal Orange Lodge #546 was organized & issued a warrant to William R. Tully 1st Master
- 1871-The 1st Post Office was in part of Armstrong's Store
- 1872-Mary Jane Brown opened the 1st school in her kitchen
- 1873- The Township of McKellar Incorporated
- 1873- 1st Council : Reeve-Samuel Armstrong, Councillors- William Hurd, George B.Lee, James McKeown, Samual Oldfield, Clerk- David Patterson
- 1875-1st Fall Fair was held in Village Square
- 1893-The Agricultural Hall was built
- 1902-A mill was built & in 1911 was called the Broadbent Wood Turing Company Ltd.
- 1914 WWI-Council members collected and sent to Canadian Soldiers 74 bags of oats, 145 bags of potatos, 1 bag of carrots, a 50lb tub of butter & $60.50
- 1920- 1st meeting of the telephone commission: William F Tait-President, Rev.Albert Bushnell-Secretary
- 1921- Telephones were ringing in McKellar
- 1928-The flood at Hurdvill
- 1930-Beginning of the Dirty Thirties
- 1933-McKellar Women's Institute was organized
- 1937-McKellar house burnt to the ground
- 1948-A contract was signed with the Hydro Commission
- 1950's - William Bill Stroud invented a continuous belt press for printing . Stroud Belt Press Ltd. was formed
- 1951-Hemacville Women's Institute was formed (Hemlock, Hurdvill, McDougall)
- 1969-The Department of Highways bought Grandview lodge to widen Highway 124
- 1974-Hurdville Mill was dismantled & sold to Dundas Vally Conservation
- September 13th 1975-100th Anniversary of the McKellar Fair. Guest of honor- Charlie Farquharson
- 1979-Discussion for a Volunteer Fire Department
- 1980-The McKellar Volunteer Fire Department had a hall and a truck
- 1982-The Township of McKellar Library opened its doors
